Tour Summary

One of our most unique dives is the Ocean Wall and Reef Dive. This unbelievable Bahamas scuba diving excursion takes divers out to the edge of The Tongue of the Ocean! We typically run this Nassau dive once a week, with our first stop at the awesome Tongue of the Ocean wall site followed by a beautiful coral reef stop. Wall dives are not all that common in the Bahamas, so if you have never experienced a wall dive before (and even if you have), you should not miss out the chance to do this type of dive while you are in the Bahamas.

After a short boat ride out to our destination, divers will strap on their gear and jump in the year-round clear warm waters off the coast of Nassau. This Bahamas ocean wall dive starts at about 60 feet, which blends into a gentle slope to about 80 feet. After this slope, however, is the actual wall drop, which is sudden drop to over 500 feet! We don’t go down quite this deep, but the feeling of floating above such a steep drop is one that cannot easily be described in words.

This slope and drop is also a great setting for a wide variety of large saltwater fish communities. Fish typically seen on this dive include large grouper, grunt, snapper, as well as other sea creatures such as lobster, eel, and of course all kinds of colorful reef species. You will have plenty of time to explore the beautiful and unique marine ecosystem that is found at the “Tongue of the Ocean.” We will even have a professional photographer on hand to capture every moment in picture and film (if you are interested in a DVD or pictures of your dive, let us know at check-in).

The second dive on our weekly Ocean Wall & Reef dives is to one of the many areas of coral reef gardens that surround the beautiful islands of the Bahamas. This dive will be more shallow than the wall dive, but just as impressive!

What are the requirements to participate in this dive?
This dive requires an open water certification or higher.

Can you pick us up from our cruise ship or hotel?
Complimentary pick up is provided from all hotels.

What are water conditions like?
All dives occur on the south side of the island where waters conditions are great all year round. Visibility remains clear and consistent all year round. Water tempatures change seasonally but average between 72 - 78f.

Can I use/bring my own scuba diving equipment?
Yes. Many people feel more comfortable using equipment they are familiar with and are best suited towards their body type. While we do everything to ensure our divers are using the safest, most reliable gear we do allow our divers to use their own dive gear.

Can my non-diving partner come on the dive?
Yes. While your partner will not be able to participate in the dive itself they can come along as a bubble watcher (rider) and enjoy the trip with you.

Is There a restroom on the boat?
Yes. There is a restroom or "Marine Head" for use on the boat.

What about sharks and other sea creatures?
With all the media hype it's understandable why people offten ask this question but the truth is that unprovoked shark attacks are very, very rare and attacks on scuba divers are even more rare. Our staff, divers and dive masters are all trained in making sure your dive is safe and enjoyable.

Do you have nitrox tanks available for use?
No for this particular dive we do not have nitrox tanks available.

I have been to the Bahamas many times, but Ocean Wall & Reef Two Tank Dive is one of my favorite trips! It includes everything that everyone should do here. As a Bahamas veteran, I can say only the best about this experience!

Thanks to the professional guides! I was a bit worried about kayaking because I had never done it before, but the instructions were great and I had such a good time!
