If you have never gone scuba diving (or even if you but don’t have your certification), our Freeport Discover Scuba Diving Course is the best way for you to introduce yourself to the spellbinding world of Bahamas scuba diving. With our expert team of Bahamas dive instructors, you will learn all the basics of scuba diving and then experience an actual dive at a coral reef about 30 feet beneath the surface of the water!
When you book yourself for the Freeport Discover Scuba Diving Course, we will take care of everything! The fun starts in the pool, where your dive instructor will show you how to use the different parts of your scuba diving gear including the BCD and regulator. If it sounds intimidating, it’s definitely not! Scuba diving is surprisingly simple and straightforward. You will find yourself using the gear in the pool in no time!
After you pass the pool instruction, it’s time for the real adventure! You will jump on board our spacious and comfortable dive boat as we ride out to sea. Before you know it, we will reach our destination, one of the many awesome and teeming coral reef ecosystems of the Bahamas! Here, you will strap on your scuba gear and jump in! You will be able to swim some 25-30 feet underneath the water among all kinds of curious and beautiful marine creatures including reef fish, turtles, eels, stingrays, and countless coral reef formations of all shapes and sizes!
All you need to know in order to join us for the Discover Scuba Diving course is how to swim! This course does not require any prior scuba certification, nor does it certify you. It allows you to actually go scuba diving without the time-consuming process of certification. This is easily one of the most popular packages that we offer to Freeport visitors, so definitely make sure to get your reservation in as far in advance as you can!
What is the Discover Scuba Course?
This is a quick and simple learn to dive program. Persons who have never tried diving before can dive without being certified. This course includes a short lecture, water skills practice & a one tank boat dive with your instructor.
What are the requirements to participate in this dive?
There are no requirements to be met in order to participate in this dive.
Can you pick us up from our cruise ship or hotel?
Transportation is not included for this activity.
What are water conditions like?
All dives occur on the south side of the island where waters conditions are great all year round. Visibility remains clear and consistent all year round. Water tempatures change seasonally but average between 72 - 78f.
Can my non-diving partner come on the dive?
No, unfortunately only divers may come on this trip.
Is There a restroom on the boat?
Yes. There is a restroom or "Marine Head" for use on the boat.
What about sharks and other sea creatures?
With all the media hype it's understandable why people often ask this question but the truth is that unprovoked shark attacks are very, very rare and attacks on scuba divers are even more rare. Our staff, divers and dive masters are all trained in making sure your dive is safe and enjoyable.
